We NEED your help in publicizing Equal Voice’s amazing new ‘Experiences’ project and getting young UBC women out to our consultation session on Thursday, March 19th at 5:30 in Leon’s Lounge at the Graduate Student Center (think Koerner’s Pub). Come yourself! Tell your friends! BLOG about it! Forward this onto your contacts! There WILL be free Blue Chip cookies!
We know that there are some huge problems with the lack of women in campus politics, and Equal Voice’s political mentorship program can help. Equal Voice recently received funding from Status of Women Canada of $1,208,404 over 38 months for the Experiences project which will work in partnership with other organizations to increase democratic participation among girls and young women by introducing girls aged 12 to 18 and young women aged 18 to 25 to positive role models and mentors; and nurturing their political literacy and inspiring them to become political leaders in the future.
We are inviting the women of UBC to take part in Equal Voice’s exciting political mentorship project by consulting with us about how they would like to see this exciting mentorship program work and what kind of speakers, forums and events they would like to attend! While there, enjoy some free cookies and sign up for a political mentor!
