Two weeks ago, I did a presentation about our Dreams for Women project for the Millennium Foundation’s Western Blowout meeting. The meeting brought together Millennium Scholars from across Western Canada.  The scholars who took part in my workshop made postcards and I’m posting them today. I would like to thank all the amazing people who I met and who participated in the Dreams for Women project.

Last week, I received a lovely surprise in the mail. The Shoreline Center for Eating Disorder Treatment (Satori House) sent us another great package of postcards and a lovely letter! Last year, we received a package of beautiful postcards from them, which were made during one of their Art Therapy programs. The postcards that they sent were beautiful and poignant and one was even chosen for our calendar!

This week, we received another package from the Centre as well as a touching letter telling us how much the project has meant to them.  I have to say, reading the letter and reading the postcards that were sent along with it brought tears to my eyes!  I want to thank the Centre for using the Dreams for Women project and for sending us their postcards! It means a lot to us.  Thank you to all the women who contributed to our project.

Dreams for Women – Change of Day…

08 Saturday Nov 2008

Am I crazy? How did I think I would be able to scan and post Dreams for Women postcards while formatting and editing the next issue of Antigone, dealing with the logistics of the Summit and writing a new draft of my thesis prospectus?

Sorry for getting your hopes up, but apparently pigs do not fly and I cannot be superwoman. Tune in next week for a new Dreams for Women on Sunday. And disregard the message I wrote before (which is below).

———–

Don’t worry! There WILL be a Dreams for Women this week… even though we’re busy preparing for the Summit. However, it won’t be out until Sunday! In fact, from now on Dreams for Women postcards will be posted on Sundays – only because I just don’t usually have time to get them up on Saturday after a long week. So, tune in tomorrow… because it’s going to be good!
